Rabat – The BAFTA Film Awards 2026 brought together the year’s most celebrated films and performances, with “One Battle After Another” emerging as the night’s biggest winner. 

The film swept top categories including Best Film and Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, while also taking home awards for editing, cinematography, and adapted screenplay, cementing its dominance this awards season.

In the leading performance categories, Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor for “Marty Supreme,” while Jessie Buckley secured Best Actress for “Hamnet,” which also earned Outstanding British Film. 

Supporting honors went to Sean Penn for “One Battle After Another” and Wunmi Mosaku for “Sinners.”

“Sinners” proved a major creative force, winning Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler and Best Original Score. 

Meanwhile, “Frankenstein” dominated the craft categories, taking Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Make Up & Hair.

Across technical and genre categories, “Avatar: Fire and Ash” won Best Special Visual Effects, while “F1” claimed Best Sound. “Zootropolis 2” was awarded Best Animated Film, and Boong won Best Children’s and Family Film.

International and documentary storytelling were also recognized, with “Sentimental Value” winning Best Film Not in the English Language and “Mr Nobody Against Putin” taking Best Documentary. 

In the British short categories, “This Is Endometriosis” won Best Short Film, while “Two Black Boys in Paradise” took Best Short Animation.

Emerging talent was highlighted with “My Father’s Shadow” winning Outstanding Debut for Akinola Davies Jr. and Wale Davies, while “I Swear” secured the award for Best Casting.
