Casablanca – Moroccan TV channel 2M will premiere the first episode of the Moroccan police series K1 today at 09:50 p.m.
Composed of eight episodes, the series will air weekly every Tuesday, featuring a lineup of well-known Moroccan actors, including Rachid El Ouali, Fatima Ezzahra El Jaouhari, Sarah Perles, and Hajar Elhamidi.
Blending police investigations with drama and psychological thriller elements, the series highlights the role of law enforcement officers in maintaining public safety, as well as the sacrifices they make in the line of duty.
It follows the daily operations of a special judicial unit led by Brigadier Aziz Lamrani, portrayed by Rachid El Ouali. The unit tackles complex cases ranging from murder and money laundering to drug trafficking.
Produced by K Films under the supervision of Khadija Alami and Nour-Eddine Lakhmari, the series aims to offer a gripping and realistic portrayal of crime investigations in Morocco.
With the support of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the actors underwent training and gained first-hand exposure to the police environment to ensure authenticity and accuracy in depicting professional procedures. The institution also provided logistical support for the production.
The series is directed by Nour-Eddine Lakhmari, Yasmine Benkirane, and Hicham Ayouch. Lakhmari, who directed four episodes, told 2M that he had long wanted to explore television, noting that its audience differs significantly from that of cinema. He added that viewers are particularly drawn to police series where suspense and thriller elements take center stage.
Through this new production, 2M seeks to explore new storytelling formats and expand its programming with high-quality Moroccan series.
