Casablanca – Moroccan comedy series L’Mardi has won the award for Best Comedy Series at the Festival du Cinéma de Meknès (Meknes TV Drama Festival.)
As the 15th edition of the festival wrapped up on Tuesday, several Moroccan productions were recognized across multiple categories, including Best Female Role, Best Male Role, Best Screenplay, and Best Director, among others.
“L’Mardi”, which aired during this year’s Ramadan season, features Oussama Ramzi, Haytam Miftah, Meryem Zaïmi, and Sandia Aboutajedyne, along with a number of other Moroccan talents. It gained popularity for its comedic portrayal of everyday life within a familiar neighborhood setting, resonating strongly with local audiences.

In the TV series category, the jury awarded the Best Work prize jointly to “3ech tma3” and “Chkoun Kan Igoul”. Meanwhile, “g” (2M) won Best Screenplay.
In the TV films category, “Al Hob Al Mor” secured the top prize. In the same production, Moroccan actor El Mehdi Foullan won Best Male Role, while Khadija Zaroual took home Best Female Role.
Other awards in the film categories also recognized strong performances, including Hiyam Lemchichi for her role in “Nassib,” and Aziz Dheouir for his performance in “Tidoukla Tikdimine.”
The awards ceremony also honored director Tarik El Idrissi, who received the Best Director prize in the TV films category for Amazigh film “Nassib.”
For the Best Screenplay award, it was shared between Abdelhaï Laraki for “Chahr El Assal” (2M), and Nour Elbouchtaoui and Bouchra Malak for “Kharij Attaghtiya” (Al Aoula).
From comedy series to TV films ,the festival once again spotlighted the richness of Moroccan productions across different formats. It also showed a growing creative energy shaping the country’s screen landscape.
