Lugano – Beyoncé has made a highly anticipated return to the Met Gala, attending this year’s edition for the first time in a decade and reclaiming her place at the center of fashion’s biggest night.
Held yesterday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the event welcomed a wide lineup of actors, singers, athletes and models, who took to the Met Gala steps in outfits inspired by the evening’s dress code, “Fashion Is Art.”
This year’s Costume Institute exhibition, titled “Costume Art,” featured more than 400 pieces exploring the relationship between fashion and the human body, with an emphasis on diverse forms, including pregnant, aging, disabled and plus-sized bodies.
Acting as a co-chair, Beyoncé embraced the theme in a dramatic, crystal-covered, skeleton-inspired gown designed by Olivier Rousteing, complete with a grey feathered cape and ornate headpiece.
She was joined by her husband, Jay-Z, and their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, turning the appearance into a rare family moment.
Blue Ivy made her Met Gala debut at the event, wearing a monochromatic white strapless gown by Balenciaga with a billowing skirt and train, paired with an unzipped jacket, sunglasses and silver heels.
Jay-Z opted for a more classic look, appearing in a tailored black tuxedo that complemented the evening’s formal tone.
The family’s fashionable appearance quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the night, drawing widespread attention across fashion and entertainment circles.
Speaking to Vogue at the event, Beyoncé described the experience as “surreal,” underscoring the significance of sharing the moment with her daughter. She added, “she looks so beautiful. It’s incredible to be able to share it with her.”
Discussing her look, Beyoncé praised Olivier Rousteing, stating, “I’m wearing Olivier Rousteing who is someone that has been so loyal to me and I’ve done so many incredible iconic looks with him. So it’s really about representing him.”
After a decade-long absence from the gala, where she previously delivered some of the event’s most iconic looks, Beyoncé’s reappearance underscored her enduring influence in fashion.
