Fez — Prime Golf Marrakech is entering the city’s lifestyle scene with a clear message: golf does not have to feel closed, intimidating, or reserved for insiders.

Located on the Route de Fès, the new venue officially opens to the public today, positioning itself as Morocco’s first connected golf practice complex. Its concept combines golf bays, ball-tracking technology, interactive games, food, drinks, and private event options in a setting designed for both beginners and regular players.

For Mohamed Boclet, co-founder of Prime Golf, the idea is not only to open another sports venue in Marrakech. It is to change how people approach a sport that many still associate with exclusivity.

“Golf often has the image of being a very exclusive sport, reserved for a certain category of people,” Boclet told MWN Lifestyle Magazine. “With Prime Golf, the idea was precisely to break that psychological barrier.”

He said the venue was designed so visitors can arrive “without knowing the rules, without equipment, without any experience” and still enjoy the moment.

Golf as a social experience

Prime Golf’s model is built around a hybrid experience. Visitors can play in bays equipped with ball-tracking technology, take part in challenges, or simply use the venue as a social space with friends, family, or colleagues.

“In practical terms, it is a mix of sport, entertainment, and technology,” Boclet said. “Thanks to the interactive screens and ball-tracking systems, even beginners can immediately understand what they are doing and have fun from the very first minutes.”

That approach is central to the project’s identity. The official Prime Golf website describes the venue as a connected golf practice complex, with games, courses, events, parties, restaurants, and beginner-friendly packages.

Boclet said the goal is not only to make people play golf, but to help them experience it in a different way.

“The goal is not only to ‘play golf,’ but to live an accessible, friendly, and modern experience,” he explained.

From learning methods to leisure design

Boclet’s background is unusual for a golf project. He is known for his work around the  “Méthode Boclet” (Boclet Method), speed reading, memorization, and mind mapping. Promotional material linked to his profile presents him as a vice world champion in speed reading and a three-time French champion in mind mapping.

He said that learning-centered mindset directly shaped Prime Golf.

“My work has always revolved around one question: how can we make something complex simpler, more intuitive, and more enjoyable to learn?” he told MWN Lifestyle Magazine.

For Boclet, traditional golf creates the same hesitation that many people feel when facing difficult learning tasks. People assume the activity is too complicated or that they will fail before they even try.

“When people look at traditional golf, many immediately think: ‘It is not for me,’ ‘It is too complicated,’ or ‘I will be bad at it.’ It is exactly the same mental barrier that some people have when it comes to learning,” he said.

Prime Golf tries to reduce that barrier through instant feedback and gamified progress. Players can see the trajectory of their ball, receive a score, and take part in challenges, which makes the process feel less formal and more rewarding.

“We transform an intimidating activity into a fun and engaging experience,” Boclet said.

Breaking golf’s traditional codes

Boclet is careful to stress that Prime Golf is not trying to reject golf’s elegance. Instead, he wants to soften the parts of the sport that make newcomers feel excluded.

“The first code is the idea that you already need to be good at golf before entering the golf world,” he said. “We want to welcome beginners first and foremost.”

He also pointed to the rigid atmosphere often associated with traditional clubs, including dress codes, silence, and strong social conventions. Prime Golf takes another route, with a more relaxed and lively environment.

The venue also responds to modern time constraints. A classic round of golf can take several hours, while Prime Golf is built around shorter, more flexible visits.

“Today, many people are looking for more flexible experiences,” Boclet said. “At Prime Golf, you can come for one hour after work, play with friends, eat, talk, and leave without pressure.”

That flexibility is one reason the concept fits Marrakech’s current lifestyle offer. The city has become increasingly associated with hybrid leisure spaces that combine hospitality, sport, entertainment, and social media-friendly design.

What visitors can expect

Prime Golf wants visitors to feel that they are entering a modern but welcoming space. Boclet described the design as premium without being intimidating, with an atmosphere that blends golf’s elegance with a warmer social energy.

On site, visitors can play on connected bays, take part in interactive games and challenges, relax with friends or family, order food and drinks, or organize private and corporate events.

“The idea is that even someone who has no interest in golf can still have a great time,” Boclet said. “Prime Golf is not only a place for golfers — it is a complete leisure and entertainment experience.”

The venue also presents sustainability as part of its model. Its press release says Prime Golf uses synthetic turf across its installations to reduce water consumption and maintenance needs, a choice it frames as better adapted to Morocco’s climate.

For Boclet, however, the strongest part of the project remains human.

“What I enjoy most is seeing people who never imagined themselves holding a golf club leave with a smile and the desire to come back,” he said.
