Rabat – Moroccan singer Rhany Kabbadj returns with “Safi Block,” a new release that has quickly gained attention across streaming platforms and social media following its launch.
Blending humor with a light, playful atmosphere, the track moves away from dramatic storytelling and leans instead into irony. The music video embraces this same energy through colorful visuals, expressive styling, and a deliberately exaggerated tone that matches the spirit of the song.
Part of the buzz surrounding the release, however, began days before the song itself arrived.
In recent days, audiences closely followed what appeared to be an online disagreement between Kabbadj and Moroccan actress Samia Akariou.
The exchange started after Akariou publicly criticized one of his previous songs, prompting Kabbadj to react with visible disappointment while using the phrase “Safi Block.”
Akariou later responded through social media, insisting the criticism came from a place of friendship, while repeating the same now-viral expression: “Safi Block.”
The interaction quickly fueled speculation online, dividing audiences between those who believed the disagreement was genuine and others who suspected a promotional rollout for an upcoming project.
With the release of “Safi Block,” the situation appears to have revealed itself as a playful marketing setup tied to the song’s launch.
Beyond the buzz, the release adds another layer to Kabbadj’s evolving musical identity, joining a growing list of tracks that have contributed to his visibility, including “Mamia,” “Jabni Mjiba,” and “Dak Zman.”
His artistic presence also extends beyond music, with appearances in television productions such as “Al Khawassir,” “Safi Salina,” and “Bab Al Bahr,” reflecting a career that moves between music and screen work.
