Rabat – Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are highly expected to tie the knot before the end of this summer, with rumors widely spread about the exact date of the ceremony.
The 41-year-old football player has previously stated in an interview with Pierce Morgan about his proposal to Georgina Rodrigues last august and their wedding plans.
“I’m not really a romantic person, I’m going to ask her to marry me because I think it’s the right time. Not only because she is the mother of my children, but because she is the person I love most. It’s the love of my life,” Ronaldo said.
Describing his proposal, he said that it wasn’t anything fancy, but rather personal. He bought an engagement ring, one Georgina would approve of, and proposed, encouraged by their daughters.
“One thing I loved is that she didn’t even care about the ring,” Ronaldo added.
“She asked me if I was telling the truth. I said Yes, seriously. I want you. At that moment, I didn’t cry, but when I saw her reaction, I had tears in my eyes.”
The football superstar also mentioned that their wedding ceremony will take place after the World Cup, hoping to arrive at his wedding with the Champion’s trophy by his hand.
According to The Sun, the couple are set to marry in Ronaldo’s birthplace,: Madeira, with a fairytale-like wedding on the island, where they were already spotted last week wearing wedding rings in their yacht.
A true love story
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez’s relationship has evolved from a chance meeting into one of football’s most closely followed celebrity romances.
The pair first met in 2016 at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working, and began dating soon after.
They made their relationship public in 2017, eventually building a life together as Ronaldo continued his football career and Rodríguez established herself as a model, influencer and television personality.
Over the years, the couple have built a blended family of five children.
They share two daughters, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda, while Rodríguez has also helped raise Ronaldo’s other children.
Their family faced a devastating loss in 2022 when their newborn son, Ángel, died during childbirth, while their daughter Bella survived.
Despite living much of their lives in the public eye, Ronaldo and Rodríguez have continued to present themselves as a close family unit.
