Marrakech — A recent artistic event took an unexpected turn when Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui found herself at the center of controversy due to the way her team handled members of the press covering the occasion.
From the start of the evening, the singer’s manager set strict conditions for the media, most notably banning questions related to Lahyaoui’s personal life or relationships.
The move was met with discontent from some journalists, who viewed it as a restriction on their professional work and a limitation on press freedom.
During the event, Lahyaoui’s manager informed reporters that the singer would not be making any statements after taking the stage, citing vocal fatigue and exhaustion, even though her performance was delivered using playback.
This decision further heightened tensions between the artist’s team and the press.
Later, Lahyaoui attempted to speak in front of the cameras, but was met with a complete walkout by journalists in a show of protest against what they deemed disrespect for their work and conditions that restricted their ability to ask questions freely.
According to eyewitnesses, Lahyaoui attended the event accompanied by well-known influencer “Maroki Rider,” while continuing to insist on avoiding any discussions related to her private life.
