Rabat – Morocco’s tourism sector is garnering more visibility among tourists from across the world, including Germany.

FVW, a tourism-focused website, said on Thursday that Morocco is one of the favorite destinations for German tourists.

“German tour operators agree that North Africa is gaining more and more attention, with Morocco standing out in particular,” the website wrote.

The North African country recorded “strong booking figures,” particularly in the past few weeks, the website added, quoting a German tour operator.

“Overall, Morocco offers a unique blend of culture, nature, and adventure that makes it an attractive destination,”  Sven Schikarsky, Chief Product Officer at Dertour Germany, told the website.

Agadir and Taghazout are generally appealing to tourists who seek to enjoy the sun and beach vibes.

The news outlet quoted Shickarsky as saying that the two Moroccan destinations offer “a successful combination of beach holidays, water sports, culture and relaxation.”

In March, Morocco’s Tourism Office (ONMT) announced its action plan to promote Morocco as an essential destination in the German tourism market.

ONMT General Director Adel El Fakir visited Germany along with a group of governmental and private tourist operators to Berlin to take part in a tourism fair in the region.

“The goal is to enhance Morocco’s position in the German market, which is one of Europe’s largest outbound markets,” ONMT said.

Morocco hopes to attract 17 million tourists by 2026 and 26 million by 2030.
