Rabat – The Higel Morocco headquarters in Casablanca is hosting the 3rd edition of the Moroccan Pizza Championship today. The event is sponsored by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Morocco. It brings together Morocco’s best pizza makers who are given 12 minutes to put together a winning pizza. The winner will earn the title of 2025 Moroccan Pizza Champion by an international jury.
Moroccan Pizza Championship started its first edition in 2022 in El Jadida, aiming to professionalize the pizza and pizzeria sector in Morocco. The idea behind creating this initiative is to provide a platform for training “pizza‑making” and professional culinary development in Morocco.
The competition was not a mere challenge but a vision to establish the first “Academy of pizzaioli” in Morocco. This edition presents programs, equipment, and professional opportunities for qualified pizza chefs across the country. The project is designed to ensure the long-term viability and regulation of this expanding profession.
The jury brings together leading figures: Massimiliano Saieva, a pioneer of Roman pizza in the United States and an international trainer; Federico Dado, a gastronomic expert and founder of Dado’s Consulting; Giulio Frascatani, president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Morocco; and Moroccan chef Taki Kabbaj, who has worked in major French establishments and is now at the helm of the restaurant La Braise d’Or.
This year’s edition benefits from the support of several committed partners, including Italforni, Higel Maroc, Toschi and Solution Forever. The winner will receive a three-day trip to Italy, including exclusive professional training – a true immersion in the excellent and authentic art of pizza.
