Maintaining quality is key

She spoke of how Glam Corner underwent a remarkable evolution over the span of the past seven years, transitioning from a solitary salon in Hassan into a multi-location enterprise. In particular, Ilham detailed the expansion into prestigious venues like Marriott Rabat, Marriott Fez, and Sofitel Tamuda Bay, underscoring Glam Corner’s steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional beauty services across diverse settings.

In addition to its physical presence, Glam Corner has integrated technological innovations to enhance the client experience. By incorporating online booking systems, Glam Corner has modernized the reservation process, providing clients with increased convenience and accessibility.

“Today, we are one of the few salons, I believe, in Morocco, to work with online booking. So, 80% of our reservations are made online, which our clients greatly appreciate,” Ilham said.

She outlined the essential aspects of her role at Glam Corner, highlighting her focus on maintaining quality standards and fostering a collaborative team environment.

“It wasn’t easy at the beginning, but now it’s become commonplace. However, what truly sets us apart is quality. And that’s something we won’t compromise on, something we won’t overlook,” Ilham told MWN.

With a meticulous selection of products and a strong emphasis on professionalism, the focus remains on prioritizing client satisfaction. Collaborations with respected brands bolster Glam Corner’s reputation as a provider of premium beauty services.

“We have surrounded ourselves with international experts, the best hairdressers from Morocco and abroad, to bring a fresh perspective and provide the highest standards for our clientele,” Ilham said. “It is their professionalism that has propelled Glam Corner to its current level of success.”

Resilience and vision

Reflecting on the hurdles she had to overcome to make it in the competitive beauty industry, she spoke about the importance of having a vision and sticking to it, regardless of the various obstacles and challenges.

“As I swiftly recognized the demand within the hairdressing and beauty industry in Morocco, I didn’t hesitate to take action. I believed it was worth pursuing, and with ambitious determination, and ample support from my family, colleagues, and partner, we successfully expanded our business model,” she said.

“The Moroccan market requires leadership, entrepreneurship, and active female participation in the economic landscape. I am firmly convinced that women make exceptional business leaders because they possess a unique blend of sensitivity, seriousness, and ambition.”

As the Moroccan beauty industry continues to flourish, the need for effective leadership and skilled professionals becomes increasingly evident. In this context, Ilham spoke of the challenges and opportunities facing aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals. Her perspective sheds light on the importance of training and education in shaping the future of the beauty sector in Morocco.

“The critical missing component in this sector today is training. We currently have numerous investors, both institutional and private, eager to invest in this field,” she said. “However, we face challenges in matching these investors with adequately trained individuals. There is a pressing need for comprehensive training in both aesthetics and hairdressing.”

Ilham Znagui’s journey from a visionary idea to a thriving business empire serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women who want to assert their leadership, shape Morocco’s economic landscape, and make their mark in the business world.
