Rabat – Younes Rahmoun’s new exhibition, “Seed, Tree, Flower,” opened today at Rabat’s Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

The exhibition focuses on immersive installations as its main experience, which are one of the artist’s most representative art forms.

There are 10 projection screens that play videos of geometric patterns in different colors, symbolizing the life cycle from seed to flower, and then repeating it. The sound also creates a sense of slow meditation, leading the visitors to focus themselves and reflect.

“We are running all the time,” Rahmoun told Morocco World News during the opening, “We don’t have time to hear our own breathing or the rhythm of our heart.”

“In Morocco, I have exhibited my works several times, but in smaller spaces, with more technical and material possibilities, and with a smaller team,” he added.

He noted that the results are not of the same value and size.

“In general, I use ideas and concepts that are part of my personal convictions, and that are part of what I lived in my childhood, but also what I still live in my life until now,” Rahmoun told MWN.

Through the video installations, Rahmoun seeks to create a space where viewers can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and become present. The artist sees his art as an invitation to pause and meditate on what we see, hear, and feel.

The immersive experience depends heavily on sound and visual quality. In the past, limited budgets and smaller exhibition spaces made it difficult to fully realize such projects.

This time, multiple large screens, high-quality projectors, and carefully designed sound systems, these equipment from the institution supported the work to be presented as intended.

In the immersive installation, with video and music, Rahmoun reflects on the cycle of life.

It begins with the seed, a symbol of potential, grows into the tree that reaches outward, and culminates in the flower, delicate yet luminous.

The inspiration comes from nature and personal experience.

Rahmoun believes that each stage represents a moment of growth, from seeds to flower, and he connected individual experience with a broader, universal narrative.
