Rabat – Transavia, the low-cost airline of Air France-KLM group, has announced relaunching its Paris-Dakhla route and introducing a new route connecting the French capital with the Moroccan city of Errachidia.

The move aligns with the National Moroccan Tourism Office’s (ONMT) strategy to position the country as an attractive travel destination in the international market, as outlined in its “Light in Action” action plan.

Regarding Dakhla, the airline has increased the route frequency to two flights per week. The flights will start on October 30, operating every Monday and Friday.

The airline previously launched the route in 2018, with one flight per week, but was suspended in 2020. Transavia was the first airline to introduce the Paris-Dakhla route.

Meanwhile, the new direct route linking Paris and Errachidia will feature one weekly flight every Sunday.

This marks the first time the south-eastern city will be connected internationally, giving European tourists the opportunity to enjoy its desert and oasis assets.

Commenting on the introduction of the new lines, Director General at ONMT Adel El Fakir said that “Dakhla and Errachidia are two tourist destinations with high potential for development that require support.”

Known as the gateway to the Sahara, Errachidia offers a captivating experience with its golden dunes, fascinating mountains, and ancient villages.

Meanwhile, Dakhla, which is located on the picturesque Atlantic coast, boasts beautiful beaches, desert landscapes, as well as fun water sports activities.

“Today, with these new international connections, they can benefit from an influx of international tourists and enhance their performance,” El Fakir added.

These new routes, which are part of the ONMT-Transavia partnership, are available on the airline’s website starting today, July 17.
