Casablanca – Moroccan-Canadian star Nora Fatehi will take the stage at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Toronto on June 12, at BMO Field.

This doesn’t mark Fatehi’s first appearance on football’s biggest stage. She previously took part in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 closing ceremony, adding to her growing presence in global performance spaces tied to major sporting moments. 

This year’s ceremony also brings a notable Arab presence, with Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna sharing the stage, adding a cross-cultural touch to a night shaped by global sound and shared energy.

The opening of the FIFA World Cup 2026 unfolds as a multi-country celebration across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, with each host nation presenting its own lineup of artists. 

Mexico City will open the celebrations on June 11 at Estadio Azteca, with a large-scale musical program bringing together major Latin and international artists. The lineup includes Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná, Tyla, among others 

In Los Angeles, performers including Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla are expected to lead the U.S. opening celebration, with additional artists to be revealed at a later stage . 

Canada’s ceremony in Toronto brings together Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream, and William Prince.

Across the three host countries, the opening ceremonies are shaping up as a large-scale cultural celebration where football, music, and international pop culture come together on some of the world’s biggest stages.
