Fez — Rapper Dizzy DROS is preparing to release his new full-length album “AFLAM” on Friday, May 22, marking his first major album project in more than a decade.

The announcement came through promotional material revealing the album title and a release date, while teasing a visual and narrative concept built around stories and characters. The project is also expected to include collaborations with major Moroccan rap names, including ElGrandeToto, Moro, and Inkonnu.

For fans of Moroccan hip-hop, the release carries a particular weight. Dizzy DROS, born Omar Souhaili, has long been viewed as one of the most recognizable voices in the country’s rap scene. His 2013 album “3azzy 3ando Stylo” remains closely associated with his early rise and his place in Moroccan rap’s modern history.

A return built on anticipation

The title “AFLAM,” meaning films in Arabic, suggests a project shaped by cinematic storytelling rather than a simple track collection. The promotional rollout is carrying a visual and narrative tone, hinting at a world made of connected stories and characters.

That framing fits Dizzy DROS’ public image. His music has often balanced street language, social commentary, ego, and performance. Over the years, he has built a catalog that speaks directly to Moroccan youth culture while keeping a distinct Casablanca edge.

The long gap since his last full album adds to the pressure around the release. In a rap scene that has changed sharply over the past decade, “AFLAM” will arrive in a very different industry from the one that surrounded his 2013 debut.

Moroccan rap’s changed landscape

Since Dizzy DROS first broke through, Moroccan rap has become one of the most visible music movements in the Arab world. Streaming, YouTube, TikTok, and regional platforms have helped turn Moroccan rappers into cross-border figures, with artists like ElGrandeToto, Inkonnu, Moro, and others shaping a highly competitive scene.

That makes the reported collaborations especially important. By bringing names such as ElGrandeToto, Moro, and Inkonnu into the project, “AFLAM” appears positioned not only as a solo comeback but as a wider Moroccan rap statement.

The timing is also notable because Dizzy DROS has recently been present beyond music. He had joined the cast of the Moroccan drama series “K1,” marking his first acting experience and adding another layer to his public profile.
