Rabat – At The Oberoi, Marrakech, the Vue Bar will host Jazz Nights on May 23-24, a two-evening immersive experience blending live jazz, signature cocktails, and the atmospheric world of 1920s American speakeasies.
The concept transforms the bar into an intimate nighttime setting inspired by the golden age of jazz clubs in New York.
As the sun sets over the resort’s gardens and canal, the space gradually shifts in tone: candlelight replaces daylight, reflections shimmer across mirrors, and the soundscape fills with piano and saxophone.
With its wooden counter, Chesterfield seating, and fireplace, the Vue Bar becomes a cinematic lounge designed for a slower, more atmospheric rhythm.
Drawing from the Roaring Twenties, a period defined by jazz, clandestine nightlife and a new culture of elegance, Jazz Nights reinterprets this aesthetic in a contemporary key, focusing on mood, detail, and musical continuity rather than spectacle.
The musical program features saxophonist Hervé Meschinet de Richemond and pianist Ivan Espenon, performing a repertoire inspired by American jazz from the 1920s and 1930s.
Their sets are designed to flow naturally with the atmosphere of the venue, enhancing rather than dominating the experience.
A bespoke cocktail menu has been created exclusively for the event, reimagining American classics with Moroccan ingredients and aromatics.
Signature creations include The Kasbah 75 with saffron notes, The Vue Carrée with woody spices, Mint Merse combining mint and cucumber, and Hush Honey blending thyme, honey and orange blossom.
Tribute to Duke, inspired by Duke Ellington, completes the selection with cognac and Cointreau.
Throughout the evening, a curated selection of bites accompanies the cocktails, extending the experience while maintaining the rhythm of music and conversation.
Guests are invited to embrace the spirit of the 1920s through their attire, adding another layer of immersion to the atmosphere and reinforcing the event’s vintage-inspired identity.
