Casablanca – Last night, Nubiyan Twist took over Jazzablanca’s Scene 21, bringing together blazing brass, infectious grooves, soul, reggae, afrobeat, jazz, and global musical influences in one of the festival’s most vibrant performances.
The concert unfolded during the festival’s fifth day, adding yet another colorful musical universe to Jazzablanca’s ever-diverse lineup and inviting audiences into a performance where rhythm rarely stood still.
Led by guitarist and producer Tom Excell, the British collective has built its identity around a sound that refuses to stay within one genre.
Jazz, afrobeat, soul, hip-hop, and world music influences flowed naturally into one another, creating a performance where every transition felt effortless.

The audience answered with the same enthusiasm. Throughout the set, the band did what it does best, while festivalgoers danced, moved, and followed every groove from beginning to end, turning Scene 21 into a celebration of collective energy.
Powerful brass sections remained at the heart of the performance, while layered percussion and dynamic rhythms kept the music constantly evolving.
Moments of improvisation gave each musician space to shine, transforming the concert into an experience that felt spontaneous, immersive, and alive.

More than a concert, Nubiyan Twist delivered the kind of live performance the collective has become known for.
Every musician contributed to the group’s unmistakable chemistry, allowing the performance to unfold as one continuous conversation between groove, improvisation, and movement.
By the final notes, Scene 21 had become a space where musical traditions met without boundaries, carried by irresistible rhythms and an audience that embraced every moment.
