Rabat- The fifth edition of the International Forum of Tourism Meknes (FITAM) is taking place from November 10-12 in Meknes. The event provides a forum for discussion, sharing, and reflection on a variety of tourism-related topics with the goal of promoting tourism in the region.
The forum plans to feature three panels covering key topics such as, “Meknes’ spiritual and cultural richness: a fundamental tourism asset,” “Repositioning Meknes as a national tourism destination,” and “Meknes’ Jewish heritage: a vehicle for the development of Moroccan-Israeli tourism.”
Additionally, the forum will include visits to Meknes’ historical landmarks as well as exhibitions of local crafts. The scheduled activities aim to boost the city’s tourism and increase its visibility.

In May, The Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade signed 10 investment agreements amounting to MAD 160 million ($15.8 million) to boost the economy of the Fez-Meknes region.
The Fez-Meknes region is one of Morocco’s most popular travel destinations given the unique and varied range of tourist activities it offers. Prominent travel guide Lonely Planet featured Meknes among its top 10 cities to visit worldwide in 2019.
Located in the northern region of central Morocco, the imperial city is home to the famous El Hedim square, the historic Bab Al Mansour, and many other great landmarks and places.
