Rabat – Morocco’s La Mamounia hotel in Marrakech has received the prestigious “Connoisseur Circle Award” for the “Best Hospitality Heritage Hotel” in 2022.
The prestigious recognition of La Mamounia’s long and rich history of word-class service in Marrakech’s bustling hospitality industry comes as the hotel nears its 100th anniversary.
Built by the pioneering French architects Henri Post and Antoine Marchisio in 1929, the hotel is widely considered one of the best worldwide.
The renowned hotel has received many international awards in recent years, testifying to its global excellence and competitiveness.
La Mamounia‘s management celebrated the news on their social media, pledging to continue their commitment to “balance between identity and heritage.”
Over 1,000 luxury hotels worldwide have been tested by the German luxury travel magazine Connoisseur Circle since 2006. To be eligible for the coveted heritage recognition, hotels are independently and objectively evaluated by a 16-member jury of renowned travel journalists and independent travel connoisseurs.

Being the only Moroccan hotel that secured a place in the 2022 Conde Nast Gold List, La Mamounia is among the top coveted hotels among high-profile tourists and public figures who visit Morocco.
Earlier this month, Travel & Leisure Magazine ranked La Mamounia as the sixth best hotel in the MENA region.
