Rabat – Morocco continues to impress Hollywood superstar Robert De Niro, who said that the country has a “whole mystery about it.”
De Niro recalled his feeling for Morocco during a new interview with Forbes magazine, where he also commented on the opening of his Nobu hotel in Marrakech.
“Extending Nobu to this city [Marrakech] just made sense,” he said, emphasizing that he has always been attracted to Morocco’s red city.
Commending the artistic and creative vibes in the city, the renowned actor emphasized that he always enjoys the art coming from Marrakech.
“I’d love to see the artwork that comes out of here from people on the street, if you will. That’s always interesting,” he added.
The actor, however, acknowledged that his feeling is not only limited to Marrakech, emphasizing the mystery that attracts millions of tourists to Morocco.
“Morocco has a whole mystery about it, there’s something very beautiful and lyrical about it,” he added.
The interview with the Hollywood star comes as actors gather for Marrakech International Film Festival, which will kick off this month convening celebrities from across the world to celebrate the art of cinema.
This is not the first time that the Hollywood star expresses his warm feelings for Morocco and Marrakech. The legendary actor recalled the same sentiment during his visit to the city during the inauguration ceremony of the Nobu Hotel.
“[Marrakech] is a special place. I’ve come here for the film festival and I might come again. I like the people very much.. It is still surprising that we found ourselves here and I am very happy about that,” he said during the inauguration of the Nobu hotel in May.
