Marrakech – Moroccan-American rapper French Montana has once again put his home country in the spotlight with the release of his latest music video, “Casino Life.”

The video, which was uploaded to his official YouTube channel on Monday, has already garnered significant attention from fans worldwide.

In the visuals for “Casino Life,” Montana prominently sports the jersey of the Moroccan national football team, showcasing his pride in his roots.

The video also features several shots filmed in Morocco, including scenes from the famous tannery quarter in Fez, highlighting the country’s skilled artisans.

Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, made a deliberate choice to include Arabic text alongside the Latin script in the video’s credits, further emphasizing his connection to his Moroccan heritage.

The song itself is part of his recently released album “Mac & Cheese 5,” which also pays homage to Morocco through its cover art, depicting the rapper illuminated by a green star against a red background, reminiscent of the Moroccan flag.

This is not the first time French Montana has celebrated his Moroccan roots through his music. Last year, he released a documentary titled “For Khadija,” directed by Mandon Lovett and presented by acclaimed American director Robert De Niro at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The documentary, produced by Puff Daddy and Drake, honors Montana’s mother Khadija and sheds light on his journey from growing up in Casablanca to his rise in the hip-hop scene in the Bronx, New York.

In the song “Casino Life,” French Montana reflects on his beginnings and significant moments in his life, including a shooting incident in Miami, while inviting the world to “put Morocco on the map.” This message resonates throughout the album, with French Montana successfully bringing more attention to his beloved home country.

The artist’s consistent efforts to celebrate and promote Morocco through his music and visuals have not gone unnoticed by his dedicated fan base. As he continues to rise as a prominent figure in the international rap scene, Montana appears determined to ensure that his Moroccan heritage remains at the forefront of his artistic expression.
