Marrakech – Moroccan-Canadian actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has released her latest single, “Nora,” accompanied by an official music video directed by Abderrafia El Abdioui and choreographed by Rajit Dev.

The song, available on all streaming platforms and Fatehi’s social media accounts, showcases a unique blend of Moroccan, Canadian, and Indian influences.

In an interview with Indo-Asian News Service (IANS), Fatehi shared the inspiration behind the song.

“Creating ‘Nora’ has been an incredible journey for me,” she said. “The song represents how Morocco, Canada, and India have built my identity, and it is my way of sharing my heritage and personal success story with the world.”

The track features a mix of modern beats and Moroccan rhythms, with lyrics in English and Darija (Moroccan Arabic).

The three-minute-55-second-long music video opens with Amazigh music that blends Indian and Moroccan cultures. Nora delivers her hip-hop verses, conveying her life story through the lyrics, and showcases her captivating dance moves.

Throughout the music video, Nora displays an array of stunning outfits. In one sequence, she gives a nod to her Moroccan lineage with an Amazigh-inspired white dress.

She also appeared in a red dress with an Amazigh touch, adorned with Amazigh silver jewelry and stones. Nora was seen inside a car that was also draped in the famous Amazigh “Mzoun” fabric, typically used to create traditional colorful Amazigh pillows. Additionally, she showcased Amazigh tattoos, further emphasizing her connection to her cultural roots.

Fatehi collaborated with Lucas Secon and Yassine Idrissi on the songwriting and composition, while Mohcine Tizaf contributed to the keyboard performance and music programming. The song was produced by Warner Music MENA.

“I hope it inspires everyone to embrace their unique identities, celebrate their diversity, and find joy in their cultural backgrounds,” Fatehi added in her interview with IANS.

Fatehi, who was born in Canada to Moroccan parents, made her debut in the Indian entertainment industry in 2014 with the film “Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans.” She later gained popularity through her appearances on reality shows like “Bigg Boss” and “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa,” as well as her performances in hit songs such as “Dilbar,” “O Saki Saki,” “Jehda Nasha,” and “Manike.”

Alfonso Perez Soto, President of Emerging Markets at Warner Music Group, commented on Fatehi’s impact. He called her “sophisticated, modern, stylish, respectful towards her roots,” adding: “Nora Fatehi personalises a new generation who want to show the world that through their challenges as emigrants, they grew, prevailed and became the best of their class.”
