Morocco’s movie theater landscape has seen steady growth since 2019, with 30 theaters operating nationwide.
Marrakech – The Moroccan Cinematic Center (CCM) has allocated 12 million dirhams to fund the construction of new movie theaters across the country.
This move is part of the government’s ongoing effort to modernize and expand the nation’s cinema sector.
In a meeting held on November 12 in Rabat, the commission, chaired by Mohamed Khouna, announced the decision to grant 4 million dirhams each to three new cinema projects: “Cinerji Carrousel” in Rabat, “Cinerji Rocade” in Casablanca, and “Cinerji Annakhil” in Marrakech.
The funding aims to enhance Morocco’s cinematic landscape and make high-quality movie experiences more accessible to the public.
Hakim Chagraoui, founder and CEO of Cinerji, unveiled the innovative, visionary concept during a press conference on July 11 last year.
The project is primarily aimed at providing an affordable, all-in-one entertainment experience across several Moroccan cities, he explained.
The new concept combines movie theaters, gaming zones, concert spaces, food courts, and coworking areas, creating a diverse hub for leisure and productivity.
