Rabat – On the second day of the 16th edition of the “Salon du Cheval d’El Jadida”, Moqaddem Anwar’s cavalry troupe from the region of Marrakech-Safi secured first place with a total of 82,17 points. They were followed by Abdelghani Benkheda from the region of Beni-Mellal-Khenifra and Rachid Sikass of Casablanca-Settat.
The judges of the competition grade each cavalry troupe based on criteria set by the Royal Federation of equestrian sports, who take into consideration the charisma, the clothing style, and the mannerism of the rifles in sync with the Moqaddem for an aesthetically satisfying performance.
The cavalry troupe of Mehdi Anjar won on the first day of competition for the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed IV, which started on Tuesday and will end this Saturday.
The competition gives the chance for 18 cavalry troops from different regions of Morocco to compete against each other.
The 16th edition will highlight the equestrian heritage of the Kingdom of Morocco. From pure Barb Horses to Arab horses, each category will be honoured with a prize for each breed.
The event will be instrumental in showcasing and promoting Morocco’s cultural heritage through various events and activities, which will be attended by many horse lovers and stakeholders from around the world.
