Marrakech – Donald Trump has reignited controversy after criticizing the NFL’s decision to have Bad Bunny headline the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show, calling the move “completely ridiculous.”
In an interview on Greg Kelly Reports on Newsmax, host Greg Kelly questioned Trump’s opinion on the decision, saying, “The NFL chose Bad Bunny… this man doesn’t like ICE, doesn’t like you, and calls anyone who disagrees with him racist.”
Kelly then asked whether Trump planned to boycott NFL games, adding that “Bad Bunny doesn’t seem like an artist who unites people, many Americans don’t even know who he is.”
Trump responded, “I’ve never heard of him. I don’t know who he is,” before adding, “I don’t understand why they’re doing that. It’s crazy. Then they blame the promoter who picks the artists… I think the decision is completely ridiculous.”
Following the announcement of Bad Bunny’s upcoming performance, Trump’s adviser Corey Lewandowski commented that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers would be present at the game.
US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem echoed the statement, asserting that “ICE agents will be everywhere inside the stadium.”
Bad Bunny has previously spoken about avoiding US tour dates over fears of potential ICE raids, clarifying, “There are many reasons I’m not performing in the U.S., and it’s not out of hate. I’ve done many successful shows there, but the fear of ICE waiting outside was deeply worrying.”
