Rabat – Speaking to Sun Travel, the full-time family travel guru, the Travel Mum (Jenna Carr), has named Agadir, Morocco as one of her most underrated holiday destinations, and honestly? We’re already packing our bags.
Mum says go to Morocco
While most families are splashing out on overpriced sangria on the Spanish coast, Jenna paid just £600 (MAD 7500) for her family of three in Agadir.
Yes, you read that right. Six. Hundred. Pounds.
“I know it’s not a place where families would traditionally go, but it’s amazing,” she told Sun Travel.
“It’s very cheap, they’ve got lovely hotels and there’s lots of fun activities to do, and it’s culturally interesting.”
This Mum ditched the package holiday
This coastal resort city on Morocco’s Atlantic coast serves up the full package: guaranteed sunshine, golden sandy beaches, vibrant souks and a flavour that no all-inclusive Benidorm strip can compete with.
“It’s not like the Costa del Sol where everything’s made for the Brits,” Jenna said.
“It’s Morocco, so you can go to markets and explore the desert.”
Revolutionary concept: a holiday that’s actually, y’know, somewhere.
Mum of Three finds family gold
Jenna and her family checked into the Allegro Agadir, and it ticks every box for travelling families:
- A dedicated kids’ pool, games and club, giving parents that golden currency known as peace and quiet.
- Grassy running-about space for kids who simply cannot stop moving.
- A tennis court and evening entertainment.
- Rooms with views over the pool or garden.
- A short stroll to the beach, with complimentary sunbeds for guests.
Travel Mum has spoken, and we’re listening
Jenna Carr has made globe-trotting with her family her full-time job, so when she calls somewhere a hidden gem, it’s probably time to listen.
Morocco is calling. And it’s very, very affordable.
