Lugano — Moroccan-born K-pop artist Kim Miso has been awarded the K-Culture Global Icon Grand Prize 2026, in recognition of her growing influence as a cross-cultural figure in the global music scene. 

In a post shared on her Instagram account, Kim Miso expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the deeper meaning behind the award.

“This recognition is not only a personal achievement, but a celebration of the power of art in bringing cultures together,” she wrote.

Born and raised in Morocco, Kim Miso moved to South Korea to pursue a career in K-pop, a highly competitive industry known for its global reach. 

Since her debut, she has distinguished herself through a unique musical identity that blends Korean pop with Moroccan and North African influences.  

Her career has steadily grown over the years, with releases such as “DROP,” “Desert Dance,” and “It Doesn’t Matter” helping her gain international attention.

A recent highlight in her career is her song “Jamila,” which reflects her signature fusion style.
