Casablanca – A night built around Moroccan music heritage is set to light up the Mohammed V National Theatre on June 23, as Nouamane Lahlou joins the Mawazine 2026 lineup for a performance that celebrates his long-standing artistic journey.

A major name in Morocco’s music scene, Lahlou has built a career closely tied to themes of identity, place, and memory, with a catalogue that often draws inspiration from different regions of the country and the emotions they carry.

His work has long stood out for its blend of traditional influence and refined composition, creating a signature style that connects across generations while staying rooted in Morocco’s cultural landscape.

Titles such as “Chefchaouen,” “Radia,” “Tafilalet,” “Laghzala Zagora,” and “Bladi Ya Zine Lboldan” reflect this approach, where each song feels like a small tribute to a place, a feeling, or a fragment of Moroccan everyday life.

A meeting point of different musical worlds

On the Mawazine side, the 2026 edition continues to take shape with a gradual rollout of its lineup, keeping anticipation building ahead of the festival.

This year’s edition is already bringing together a wide spectrum of voices, with names including Nacim Haddad, Asma Lmnawar, Mayada El Hennawy, Tamer Hosny, Rema, Orchestra Baobab, and Nicky Jamal alongside other names, reflecting the festival’s ongoing mix of regional presence and international acts across its stages.

What Mawazine represents goes beyond a simple concert series. The festival has become a space where different musical identities meet at the same moment, where Arabic pop, African heritage sounds, global mainstream acts, and local Moroccan voices all share the same stages in Rabat.

Within this mix, Mawazine continues to function as both a local cultural anchor and a global platform, where Moroccan artists stand alongside some of the most widely followed names in contemporary music, each bringing a different rhythm to the same city.

Against this backdrop, the festival continues to highlight artists who have shaped Morocco’s musical memory, with Nouamane Lahlou adding his own long-standing presence to this year’s lineup.
