Rabat – A new Moroccan digital platform, Sawti, has been launched with the aim of making political information more accessible, understandable, and inclusive for citizens across Morocco and abroad.
Available online at Sawti.info, the non-profit initiative was founded by young Moroccan entrepreneurs Ismaïl Lahlou and Yassine Lahlou Kamal.
Designed to reach a broad audience, Sawti stands out for its multilingual approach. The platform is currently available in nine languages, including Darija, Arabic, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and German, with Tamazight expected to be added in the near future.
This linguistic diversity aims to ensure that political information remains accessible to both residents and members of the Moroccan diaspora.
As political systems and electoral processes can often appear complex, Sawti offers simplified content that helps users better understand Morocco’s institutions, election procedures, and key political developments.
By presenting information in a straightforward manner, the platform hopes to encourage greater public participation in civic life.
Among its key features, Sawti allows users to verify their voter registration status or complete their electoral registration online within minutes.
With voter registration scheduled to close on June 13, the platform provides a streamlined way for eligible citizens to check their status and register before the deadline.
The platform also includes dedicated resources for Moroccans living abroad, offering practical information on how they can participate in elections from outside the country.
Looking ahead, Sawti plans to introduce an interactive political quiz that will help users explore their political positioning based on their values and opinions on major social and public policy issues.
By combining accessibility, technology, and civic education, Sawti reflects a growing effort to modernize access to political information and strengthen citizen participation in Morocco.
