Moroccan Dystinct Breaks Guinness World Record

This adds to a series of milestones that have marked the Moroccan singer’s recent rise.

Casablanca – Belgian-Moroccan star Iliass Mansouri, better known as Dystinct, has added another milestone to his growing international career, earning his first Guinness World Record through Billboard Arabia’s partnership with Guinness.

The achievement comes after the remarkable success of his songs “La” and “Yama,” which spent a combined 15 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Arabia Hot 100 chart, earning him the record for the highest number of weeks at the top of the ranking for a male artist.

The two tracks have become some of Dystinct’s biggest successes to date.

Since its release in 2023 as part of his album Layali, “La” has remained on the Billboard Arabia charts for 128 consecutive weeks, making it one of the platform’s longest-running songs. The track has also accumulated more than 69 million views on YouTube.

Meanwhile, “Yama” continues its strong chart run, currently spending its nineteenth consecutive week on the Billboard Arabia Hot 100. The song has already surpassed 178 million views on YouTube in just seven months, further cementing Dystinct’s place among the most-streamed Arab artists of the moment.

Beyond the numbers, both tracks have enjoyed a life far beyond the charts, becoming staples across social media platforms and fan-generated content. Their widespread popularity has helped transform Dystinct from a rising artist into one of the most recognizable names in contemporary Arabic music.

A momentum of milestones

The Guinness World Record adds to a series of milestones that have marked the Moroccan singer’s recent rise. In 2025, he became the first Moroccan artist to sell out Belgium’s Lotto Arena, marking the first time an Arabic-language concert had filled the venue.

His momentum continues this year as well. Dystinct will join fellow Moroccan artist Manal at the inaugural Mahrajan Festival in London on August 1, an event aiming to showcase Arabic music to an international audience.

With a Guinness World Record now added to his growing list of achievements, Dystinct continues to push Moroccan music onto larger stages, reinforcing a career that has steadily crossed borders while building a global audience.
