Fez — Casablanca’s La Grande Table Marocaine, located on the 23rd floor of Royal Mansour Casablanca, has earned a place in CNN’s selection of international restaurants worth traveling for.

In an article published on October 17, CNN Arabic showcased eight dining destinations around the world where cuisine, local culture, and distinctive surroundings combine to create memorable experiences.

The Moroccan restaurant stood out for its panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the majestic Hassan II Mosque, refined interpretation of traditional cuisine, and interiors showcasing Moroccan craftsmanship.

Moroccan gastronomy with a view

Overlooking Casablanca’s coastline, La Grande Table Marocaine offers visitors an elevated dining experience that celebrates Morocco’s culinary traditions.

CNN highlighted the restaurant’s location inside Royal Mansour Casablanca, describing its atmosphere and the traditional craftsmanship reflected in its decorative details.

From intricate mosaics and metalwork to carpets and lighting fixtures, the interiors incorporate elements of Moroccan artisanal heritage.

The restaurant also offers sweeping views of the city, including the Atlantic coastline and Hassan II Mosque.

Its menu emphasizes locally sourced ingredients, with traditional dishes drawing on Morocco’s diverse regional culinary traditions.

CNN particularly noted the restaurant’s slow-cooked tagines, including a preparation featuring free-range chicken, preserved lemon, and olives.

Other ingredients highlighted in the publication include Moroccan saffron, argan oil, and locally sourced seafood.

Preserving tradition through fine dining

Under the direction of chef Karim Ben Baba, La Grande Table Marocaine offers an extensive selection of Moroccan specialties, ranging from traditional salads and royal pastilla to lamb m’hamer and couscous.

According to Royal Mansour’s official menu, the restaurant also serves blue lobster from Oualidia, pigeon pastilla with almonds, and desserts incorporating dates, orange blossom, and other Moroccan ingredients.

The culinary concept follows the success of La Grande Table Marocaine at Royal Mansour Marrakech, extending the hospitality brand’s interpretation of Moroccan gastronomy to the country’s economic capital.

The restaurant’s inclusion in CNN’s international selection also proves Casablanca’s appeal beyond its traditional reputation as a business destination.

The publication placed the Moroccan establishment alongside destinations including Vermejo in New Mexico, Puna in Costa Rica, Marias in Italy, Bonheur in London, Fouquet’s in Paris, Yong Fu in Shanghai, and Kontrast in Oslo.
