Rabat – Conan O’Brien’s Moroccan journey took another colorful turn with a visit to renowned photographer Hassan Hajjaj’s iconic concept store, Jajjah Tea, in Marrakech, where the comedian also stepped in front of the artist’s lens for one of his signature portraits.

After traveling through Casablanca, the dunes of Merzouga, and the streets of Marrakech while filming the third season of “Conan O’Brien Must Go” for HBO Max, the American host added another memorable stop to his Moroccan adventure.

Rather than another landscape or cultural landmark, this time the spotlight turned to one of Marrakech’s most creative spaces.

More than just a tea house

Opened in 2021 in Marrakech’s creative district of Sidi Ghanem, Jajjah Tea is one of Hassan Hajjaj’s most distinctive projects, blending Moroccan culture with contemporary creativity under one roof.

A tea house, a restaurant, and a gallery. Jajjah Tea brings all three together under one roof, serving Moroccan street food alongside its own signature tea collection while showcasing emerging Moroccan photographers.

Over the years, it has become a favorite stop for both locals and international visitors looking to experience a different side of Marrakech’s creative scene.

Stepping into Hassan Hajjaj’s world

Known for his bold portraits framed by vibrant colors, patterned backdrops, and everyday Moroccan objects, Hajjaj has built an instantly recognizable visual identity that has earned him international acclaim.

During his visit, O’Brien stepped into that colorful universe, posing for one of Hajjaj’s signature portraits outside Jajjah Tea, adding another well-known face to the photographer’s growing collection of cultural figures and celebrities.

The visit adds another memorable chapter to O’Brien’s Moroccan journey, which has already taken viewers from bustling cities to desert landscapes. This time, however, it offered something different: a glimpse into Morocco’s thriving contemporary art scene through one of its most recognizable creative voices.
