Rabat – After several years of hiatus, Morocco’s flagship event, the Mawazine Festival, is returning with an electric lineup that spans different genres and cultures.

The festival released a new list of artists that will hit the festival stages across the Rabat region.

The new unveiled list features Gazo & Tikola, two French rap artists, who have been bringing French rap to the mainstream.

The featured artists also include Harold Phillippon, known as Alawn;a music producer, songwriter, mixing engineer and DJ.

Lebanese superstars Haifa Wehbe and Adam will also be present this year, along with American singer and songwriter Camila Cabello, whose song “Senorita” has been one of the international music’s resounding hits in recent years.

Mawazine’s list also features Badr Rami, Metro Boomin, Yuri Buenaventura, Nicki Minaj, among many other stars like Carole Samaha, Najwa Karam as well as ATEEZ.

The festival will kick off on June 21and will continue until June 29 in Rabat, offering a diverse array of performances.

Last year in February, the Maroc Culture Association announced that the festival will resume its activities from 2024 after being canceled for three years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The festival has confirmed its position as an international music event after attracting millions of festival goers in the past editions.

In 2018, the festival attracted nearly three million festival goers.

Mawazine offers free access to 90% of its concerts, with the aim of contributing to Morocco’s tourism industry.

“Mawazine remains open to all contributions that respect the values of Maroc Cultures. Its business model is based on revenue from ticket sales and sponsorship of private companies, with the support and benevolence of public authorities, authorities, and security services who spare no effort to ensure that Mawazine takes place in the best conditions of security, calm and serenity of the population,” the association stated in a press release. 

Previous editions have featured several international stars, including Rihanna, David Guetta, Jennifer Lopez, among others.
