Rabat – Abla Ababou Galerie is closing out the year with “Escapade Éphémère,” (“Fleeting Escapade”) a two-day pop-up that turns the space into a winter rendezvous for Moroccan art, design, and fashion.

Held on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the pop-up will take place at Abla Ababou Galerie on 57, avenue Mehdi Ben Barka in Rabat’s Souissi district. Curated as “a meeting point for art and creation,” the event invites the public to explore the universes of several Moroccan designers brought together under one roof.

“Escapade Éphémère” (“Fleeting Escapade”) runs in parallel with the extension of the gallery’s design exhibition “Éloge du geste” (“In Praise of Gesture”), which celebrates craftsmanship, form, and materials. Together, the two projects build a pathway that moves from contemporary art and design objects to wearable pieces, highlighting the continuity between artistic gesture and everyday use.

An eclectic exhibition

Over the course of the weekend, visitors will find a carefully selected mix of artworks, accessories, jewelry, and ready-to-wear pieces, alongside shoes, sunglasses, bags, and other fashion items. The idea is to create an intimate, boutique-style experience inside the gallery, where each object reflects a distinct story, technique, or reinterpretation of Moroccan savoir-faire.

The line-up of brands and creators includes names such as Atelier Cocon, Leiyah, Shaymine, Princesse Libellule, Optisoins, Rimi Atelier, Rhita Sebti, and Touch of Moon – Handmade Bloom, representing a cross-section of emerging and established labels in the country’s design scene.

Positioned as a “winter meet-up for art and creation,” Escapade Éphémère also responds to growing interest in locally made, small-batch pieces. For visitors, the event offers the possibility of finding unique garments and objects that sit somewhere between gallery work and everyday design — whether as personal purchases or as inspired gifts.

With this end-of-year initiative, Abla Ababou Galerie continues to expand its role beyond traditional exhibitions, acting as a platform where Moroccan artists, designers, and craftspeople can meet new audiences and test new formats.
