Marrakech – In celebration of International Women’s Day, a unique concert will take place on March 5, honoring the women who shaped the golden era of Arabic music and left a lasting mark on cultural heritage.
Abeer Nehme, internationally recognized for her authentic vocal renditions, will headline the concert alongside the London Arab Orchestra, conducted by Basel Saleh, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and a 70-member all-female-choir, a fist of its kind ensemble celebrating female artistry.
Jessica Kahawaty will host as storyteller, guiding audiences through the history and meaning behind the songs and the legendary divas, creating a cultural journey that celebrates music, heritage, and nostalgia.
From the first moment, audiences will journey through the timeless melodies of Fairuz, also known as the “Voice of Lebanon,” whose songs evoke mountains, seas, and the poetry of everyday life.
Then comes Umm Kulthum, Egypt’s unmatched diva, whose emotional power and command over the oud and orchestration made her songs eternal anthems of love, longing, and pride.
The concert will also honor Asmahan, whose brief life burned bright with glamorous, passionate performances that blended East and West.
Then, there is Sabah, Lebanon’s unstoppable star, a vivacious performer whose joy and energy lit up every stage she graced.
Warda, the “Rose of Algeria,” will be remembered through renditions that celebrate her dramatic, heart-stirring voice and her devotion to love, country, and musical storytelling.
The one night event will offer an inspiring, festive experience, honoring the artistry and legacy of the women who defined Arabic music.
