Fez — Greek carrier AEGEAN Airlines has announced the launch of a new direct flight connecting Casablanca and Athens, set to begin operations on October 25, 2026.
The route will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, offering travelers improved connectivity between Morocco and Greece while expanding access to AEGEAN’s broader international network as a member of the Star Alliance.
Expanding Mediterranean links
The new service is expected to strengthen growing tourism and business exchanges between the two Mediterranean nations. Through Athens International Airport, passengers departing from Casablanca will gain convenient access to destinations across Europe, the Balkans, and parts of the Middle East.
The launch aligns with Morocco’s broader strategy to expand international air connectivity, particularly through Casablanca, which serves as the Kingdom’s primary aviation hub.
Industry observers note that enhanced air links play a key role in boosting both leisure travel and commercial partnerships, especially as Morocco continues to position itself as a regional gateway between Africa and Europe.
AEGEAN reinforces its Morocco presence
AEGEAN Airlines already operates routes to Marrakech and is now expanding its footprint in Morocco by adding Casablanca to its network. The move reflects the airline’s strategy to deepen its presence in North Africa while increasing connectivity within the Mediterranean basin.
The carrier operates a modern fleet primarily composed of Airbus aircraft, including next-generation A320 and A321 models. It is regularly recognized for its service standards and onboard hospitality in both Business and Economy Class.
In Morocco, AEGEAN Airlines is commercially represented by APG Maroc, a subsidiary of the global APG Network.
The partnership supports local distribution, promotion, and collaboration with travel professionals and businesses.
