Casablanca – Moroccan singer Oum is set to tour Morocco this Ramadan with a series of concerts scheduled from March 1- 4 in Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakech.

The concerts are part of a special Ramadan tour and mark the Moroccan premiere of “Dialddar,” her new album released on February 20.

These concerts introduce a new live show before she heads on an international tour.

She will kick off the tour in Casablanca on March 1, moving to Rabat on March 2, and perform in Marrakech on March 3-4.

After the Moroccan dates, Oum is set to take the stage in Paris on May 4.

Oum El Ghaït Benessahraoui  is a Moroccan artist of Sahrawian roots. She moves between Hassania, Sufi and Gnaoua influences, while weaving in jazz, gospel and broader African sounds.

Her music carries a spiritual tone, yet stays grounded and contemporary.

She began singing in gospel choirs at a young age and wrote her first song at 17. After studying architecture, she chose to fully commit to music in the early 2000s. Her early releases were shaped by hip-hop and R&B, performed in English and Moroccan Darija.

Her first album was “Lik’Oum,” released in 2009. She followed it with “Soul of Morocco” in 2013, then “Zarabi” in 2015, where she resonated with jazz and soul, blending them with Amazigh, Sahrawi, and Andalusian influences, and touches of Cuban and Ethiopian music.

Along the way, she also released “Sweerty” in 2012 before “Daba” came in 2019, and “Dialddar” this year as her latest release.

Over the years, her sound evolved and reached audiences across the country including at the Gnaoua World Music Festival. Beyond Morocco, she has toured across Europe, North Africa, and Egypt.
