Rabat – Kesha is https://x.com/KeshaRose/status/2028636354150572457?s=20"> slamming President Trump for unauthorized use of her song “Blow” in a TikTok posted to the White House‘s account last month.
The clip, posted on February 10, shows a fighter jet shooting a missile at a naval ship with the caption “Lethality.”
The post has been viewed 14.5 million times and liked by 1.8 million users on TikTok.
Though several weeks have passed since the White House published the video, Kesha took to social media on Monday to express her disapproval of her song’s use.
“It’s come to my attention that The White House has used one of my songs on TikTok to incite violence and threaten war,” https://x.com/KeshaRose/status/2028609721981145216?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2028609721981145216%7Ctwgr%5E976786cd3570a3c7c7d26ee14f068f811a5e2dbd%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fvariety.com%2F2026%2Fmusic%2Fnews%2Fkesha-blasts-white-house-using-blow-pro-war-post-disgusting-1236677572%2F"> wrote Kesha.
“Trying to make light of war is disgusting and inhumane. I absolutely do NOT approve of my music being used to promote violence of any kind. Love always trumps hate. please love yourself and each other in times like this. This show of blatant disregard for human life and quite frankly this attack on all of our nervous systems is the opposite of what I stand for.”
She concluded her message with a reference to the Epstein files, stating, “Also, don’t let this distract us from the fact that criminal predator Donald Trump appears in the Files over a million times.”
White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung quoted Kesha’s tweet on X and wrote, “All these ‘singers’ keep falling for this. This just gives us more attention and more view counts to our videos because people want to see what they’re bitching about. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Other artists have voiced similar concerns. Olivia Rodrigo, in a message to ICE last November, said, “Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda” after DHS used her track “All American B****” in a video.
Sabrina Carpenter also called out a post that used her song “Juno” alongside footage of immigrants being tackled and arrested, “This video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.”
