Casablanca – Everyone knows that today is International Women’s Day. The question is: do they really know what women want?

It’s a day to celebrate women – these goddesses who make the world a sweeter place. To celebrate our achievements, our impact, but most importantly, our presence.

It’s a day when women celebrate with each other. Maybe men give women chocolate and flowers, and share sweet words of love and appreciation. Do we love flowers and chocolate? Absolutely. But is that all? Of course not.

It’s just one day of the year, a reminder to appreciate women in our lives (and the women we are.) But the recognition, respect, and value women deserve should stretch far beyond just one day, it should be felt every day of the year.

Now, for anyone wondering what every woman wants, here’s your guide.

Sweet creatures we are, we’re not asking for luxuries or miracles. We simply want life to feel fair, normal, and uncomplicated. To make choices freely, without endless judgment.

Women want to choose what works best for them without hearing the absurd questions “Why?” or the classic: “But you’re a woman?”

Yes, I am a woman, and I can be as ambitious as anyone. I can aim high, take risks, fail, learn, and rise again – without someone questioning my right to dream big.

Women want to live their lives without limits or unnecessary judgment. We want respect for our choices – whether it’s about careers, relationships, style, or hobbies – without anyone telling us what’s “appropriate” for our gender. We want our voices to be heard, not dismissed.

A partnership, not a competition

We want opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed on our terms. We’re not asking for applause, what we truly want is simply to be ourselves. And yes, while chocolate and flowers are sweet, the deeper gift is being seen, listened to, and valued every single day.

And no, we’re not saying men should be treated less. Life isn’t a competition between men and women; it’s a partnership. No hate, no judgment, and no outdated stereotypes.

We love men and appreciate their presence, their efforts, their support. Wanting to live free from societal pressure doesn’t diminish them; it simply calls for fairness and understanding. For a world where both men and women can move freely, make mistakes, grow, and thrive equally.

This day is a reminder we strive for a life where men and women can truly choose their paths equally. Decide, act, stumble, learn, flourish, succeed. A life where ambition isn’t measured by gender, where pride isn’t reserved for men and shame isn’t reserved for women. Imagine that. A beautiful dream, isn’t it?

And honestly, it’s hard to understand why this is still even questioned in 2026. Women have long proven that they can lead, create, innovate, and transform the world. Yet society still hesitates to give equal space, freedom, and recognition.

On a side note, this isn’t a call for women to want the same dreams either. If a woman chooses a different path – even one that doesn’t align with other women’s ambitions – she should have the freedom to do so. It’s all about her choice, and hers alone.

So, here’s to celebrating women – today, tomorrow and every day. Happy International Women’s Day!
