Rabat – Last night, Myriem Himmich Gallery unveiled “Where Light Emerges,” a collective exhibition celebrating artistic talent and championing inclusion within Morocco’s cultural scene.
The exhibition marked the second edition of the gallery’s “Social and Humanitarian Art” initiative, launched in 2025 to recognize and support artists with disabilities.
Through this program, the gallery seeks to bring visibility to talents that are often overlooked while encouraging a more inclusive artistic landscape.
This year, three artists were featured: Alexandra Pronina, Hiba Tazzit, and Mohamed Nassim Gryech, whose talent and creative vision were recognized.
Tatmin Foundation co-organized the “Where Light Emerges” exhibition, a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of artists with disabilities.
Founder Mohamed Belmaizi spoke to MWN Lifestyle about how Myriem Himmich’s initiative channels the artists’ creativity into a message the world can hear, putting their work in the spotlight and bringing it closer to audiences everywhere.
For the families of the artists, the moment carried special meaning.
Mohamed Nassim Gryech’s mother described the exhibition as “wonderful,” expressing pride and joy at seeing her son’s work displayed in a professional gallery setting.
In an interview, she expressed her hope that all three exhibiting artists gain recognition, both nationally and internationally.
Association YANES, a partner of “Where Light Emerges,” promotes the inclusion of young people with disabilities through artistic, cultural, and educational initiatives, and will get 10% of the proceeds from artwork sales.
Through these donations, YANES will be able to continue its programs that promote artistic expression and opportunities for young people with disabilities
The artistic atmosphere extended beyond the visual works on display.
The evening also featured a live musical performance by Yassine El Chehab, who captivated the audience with a soulful performance.
Abderrazzak El Mechati added another layer to the experience, offering a mesmerizing Sama dance.
Events like “Where Light Emerges” highlight how art can serve as both expression and connection.
By bringing together artists, audiences, and organizations, the exhibition shows how creativity can help build a more inclusive cultural space.
