Rabat – As Atlanta gears up to host matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, city officials have unveiled plans to transform Centennial Olympic Park into a major fan and entertainment hub, according to Atlanta News First.

The city’s official FIFA Fan Festival will run for 16 days, from June 12 to July 15, offering visitors a dynamic mix of live match screenings, concerts, food and drink, and cultural programming.

The initiative aims to create an immersive experience beyond the stadium, welcoming both locals and international fans.

“This event will give residents and visitors from around the world the opportunity to experience the excitement of the world’s largest sporting event in a unique and welcoming way,” said Dan Corso, president of the Atlanta Sports Council and the Atlanta World Cup Host Committee.

He emphasized that much of the World Cup atmosphere happens outside match venues, with the fan festival acting as a central gathering point to celebrate both the sport and the city.

Four themed areas

The Main Stage will serve as the focal point, featuring concerts and a giant 40-foot screen for match broadcasts.

The Playground will cater to younger fans with interactive games and activities, while The Pitch will host community programming, including podcasts and immersive augmented and virtual reality experiences.

Georgia Street will highlight regional artists alongside a diverse selection of food vendors.

With Mercedes-Benz Stadium set to host eight matches, including a semifinal, officials expect hundreds of thousands of visitors to arrive in Atlanta during the tournament.
