LuganoThe Oberoi Marrakech has been featured in a recent travel ranking by The Times, placing it among standout destinations for wellbeing and luxury travel.

The recognition highlights Morocco’s growing presence in the global hospitality sector, particularly as the country continues to position itself as a leading destination for high-end and wellness-focused tourism.

Located just outside Marrakech, The Times underscores the resort’s prime location, presenting it as “an alternative to the city’s ceaseless energy, offering a setting where design, landscape and hospitality are carefully aligned.”

The five-star resort is set within 28 acres of olive groves and citrus orchards, offering sweeping views of the Atlas Mountains and a peaceful retreat away from the city’s energy.

The expansive grounds, combined with the natural landscape, create a sense of privacy and calm that appeals to both leisure and wellness travelers.

The property is distinguished by its blend of traditional Moroccan architecture and contemporary design, with The Times emphasising that “The resort draws on the architectural traditions of Moroccan palaces.”

Amongst these historic landmarks is the Medersa Ben Youssef, with the resort incorporating intricate zellige tilework, carved wood detailing, and open courtyards that reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage while maintaining a modern aesthetic.

The Times also explored the resort’s expansive accommodation layout “from spacious rooms to private villas, many designed with outdoor terraces and pools”.

These spaces are designed to offer a balance between luxury and seclusion, catering to guests seeking comfort, exclusivity, and personalized experiences.

The Times also notes that “dining forms a central part of the experience,” at The Oberoi Marrakech, with the resort offering three restaurants serving a mix of Moroccan and international cuisine.

The resort’s wellness offering is centered around its spa, which provides traditional hammams and holistic treatments, reinforcing the resort’s focus on relaxation and wellbeing while allowing international visitors to immerse themselves in Moroccan traditions.

The recognition by The Times adds to an impressive list of international distinctions for The Oberoi Marrakech.

Among its recognitions, The Oberoi Marrakech was ranked among “the Best Hotels in Northern Africa” by Condé Nast Traveller UK in its Readers’ Choice Awards in last year, while also being awarded Two Michelin Keys from the Michelin Guide the same year.

The resort was previously named “Africa’s Leading Luxury Resort” at the World Travel Awards in 2022, further cementing its reputation in the region.

Beyond its awards, the resort reflects Morocco’s broader tourism strategy, which emphasizes premium, experience-driven travel.

By combining luxury hospitality with cultural authenticity and natural surroundings, The Oberoi Marrakech continues to strengthen its position as one of the country’s leading destinations.
