Casablanca – Moroccan comedian and actor Swilah is set to join the cast of Lalla Laaroussa as the popular program prepares to return for its 20th edition.

Swilah announced the news through a social media post, appearing in a traditional Moroccan jellaba and captioning it: “Moul dar soon on the Lalla Laaroussa show.”

His post quickly gained attention from fans, who welcomed the comedian’s addition to the show and expressed excitement about the upcoming season. His participation marks a new addition to the long-running show, which remains a staple of Moroccan television.

He will reportedly replace Moroccan actress Saadia Azgoun in the segment dedicated to proverbs, while Saadia Ladib will continue hosting the show.

Ladib presented the previous edition, following Dounia Boutazzout. Since its launch in 2006, the show has featured several Moroccan artists as hosts, including Fatima Khair, Rachid El Ouali, Safaa Hbirkou, Houda Rihani, Rachid El Idrissi, Najat El Wafy, and Abdellah Didane.

Lalla Laaroussa remains one of the most popular entertainment programs on Al Aoula. The show brings together newly married couples from across Morocco, each representing their city.

The participants are newly married couples who compete in various challenges, including games and general knowledge segments. The winning pair is awarded a house and a wedding celebration, which is aired during the final episode.

Beyond Lalla Laaroussa, Swilah also marked a presence during Ramadan this year. He was part of the cast of “Ba Lahbib”, alongside Abdellah Ferkous, Fatima Ouchay, Zouhair Zair, and Foullan.

He also won “Ahssan Patissier Celebrity,” where he competed with Moroccan figures including Karima Gouit, Soukaina Darabil, Salwa Zarhane, and Zahrae Al Shaer, cementing his reputation as a popular and multi-talented figure in Moroccan entertainment.
