Rabat – At just 30 years old, Moroccan artist Nassim Gryech is making waves in the contemporary art world.
Living with Down syndrome, he paints luminous, vibrant works that reveal not only incredible technical talent but also a unique artistic voice.
With several exhibitions already to his name, Gryech is steadily carving out his place as a rising star in the art scene.
Gryech’s paintings are a kaleidoscope of life, depicting landscapes, cityscapes, jewels, Amazigh symbols, musical instruments, traditional attire, zellige mosaics, and portraits of women and children.
Each work channels the magic of color and form to convey emotions and ideas universally, reflecting a spirit full of love, freedom, and confidence.
Born in Rabat, Gryech discovered his love of color as a child, helping his mother with embroidery.
He spent hours choosing threads, harmonizing hues, and admiring the delicate movements of her hands.
It was in this world of textures and tones that his fascination with color was born, a fascination that would become the core of his artistic language.
Gryech’s talent has not gone unnoticed in Morocco.
On March 10, the Myriem Himmich Gallery hosted “Where Light Emerges”, bringing together three artists: Alexandra Pronina, Hiba Tazzit, and Nassim Gryech, each with a story worth telling.
The exhibition was a celebration of art, culture, and inclusion at the heart of Morocco’s creative scene, highlighting Gryech’s role in shaping the country’s vibrant artistic landscape.
