Fez — Tangier is preparing to host what organizers are presenting as the first “DJ Run” in northern Morocco, a 5-kilometer community race powered by live music and collective energy.

Organized by Made in Velocity in collaboration with Tangier Running Club, the event is scheduled for May 10 at 10 a.m. in Tangier. Registration is free through the ticketing platform Tidar, according to the event’s official listing.

The event is led by “Neon Sessions,” a creative agency based in Tangier, and forms part of a broader push to create immersive lifestyle experiences for young audiences in Morocco’s northern city.

The concept brings together a simple running format and a music-led atmosphere. Participants will move through the city as DJ Oddity leads the pace and sets the mood throughout the run.

A new way to experience Tangier

The event is considered a fresh way to experience Tangier, turning the city into a shared route for runners, music fans, and residents looking for a different kind of morning gathering.

The 5-kilometer run is designed as a community experience rather than a traditional competitive race. The idea is to create a “moving crowd,” with rhythm and energy building as participants run together.

The meeting point will be at Merkala, one of Tangier’s most recognizable coastal areas.

From run to coffee rave

The event does not end at the finish line. After the run, participants are expected to gather for a “Coffee Rave” at Pam’s Café, starting at 11 a.m. and continuing later into the day.

Rafal Music is set to perform during the post-run gathering, expanding the event from a sports activity into a wider lifestyle and music experience. The format reflects a growing interest in hybrid events that mix wellness, urban culture, and electronic music.
