Safi – Moroccan-Canadian Faouzia will perform at Jazzablanca on July 3, taking the Casa Anfa stage as part of the festival’s first weekend.

A spot on the Casa Anfa lineup

Jazzablanca’s programme places her alongside Cory Wong on the same bill. Robbie Williams, Deluxe, and Scorpions will also headline  the same stage during the weekend’s run.

A debut album in three languages

Faouzia’s appearance in Jazzablanca adds another milestone to a career that has steadily expanded across languages and audiences.

Among the many projects that shaped the singer’s artistry, her debut album “Film Noir,” marks a significant step in her career.

Released on November 7, the album contains eleven tracks spanning English, French, and Arabic, closing  with the Arabic-language”Desert Rose.”

The album leans into heartbreak and emotional turmoil, weaving jazz and piano ballads into a pop-driven sound. Jazzablanca similarly described her work as a meeting point of cinematography and culture.

A career already full of milestones

Faouzia has built her catalog on high-profile pairings. In 2020, she released “Minefields,” a duet with John Legend that introduced her to a wider global audience.

She had already appeared on “Battle,” the second track on David Guetta’s album “7,” and on “Money,” a platinum-certified single from French rapper Ninho’s 2019 album “Destin.”

One of her most recent milestones came last December, when she performed at a Valentino gala in Marrakech on the sidelines of Marrakech International Film Festival. This marked her first time performing live in the country of her birth.

If Marrakech marked a first, Jazzablanca offers a return of another kind. Taking place two days before her birthday, the concert will bring her back to Casablanca making it a homecoming of its own.
