Rabat – Fédération Royale Marocaine des Sports Équestres has officially unveiled the list of qualified sorbas set to compete in the 25th edition of the Hassan II Tbourida Trophy, taking place from June 15-21, at Dar Es Salam.
Following qualifying competitions held across the Kingdom, 18 senior sorbas and 6 junior sorbas have secured their places in what remains Morocco’s most prestigious celebration of traditional equestrian arts.
Representing regions from Guelmim to Oujda, Settat to Guercif, the selected troupes reflect the depth and diversity of Morocco’s living equestrian heritage.
In the Seniors category, notable qualified troupes include Sorba El Haloua Abdelhadi and Sorba Cherrat Abdelfattah from Skhirat-Témara, Chabab Houara Ouled Rahou from Guercif, Sorba Mohamed Ben Driss and Lmzamza Sidi El Aïdi from Settat, alongside representatives from Safi, Khémisset, Marrakech, Béni Mellal, Sidi Bennour, and Guelmim.
The Juniors category will feature six emerging troupes, including Chabab Ahl Taourirt, Chabab Guercif, and Troupe Mokaddem El Gazoumi Houssam from Guelmim, highlighting a new generation carrying forward the traditions of Tbourida.
Recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Tbourida remains one of Morocco’s most emblematic cultural expressions, combining horsemanship, choreography, and ceremonial tradition.
The upcoming anniversary edition of the Hassan II Trophy is expected to spotlight both competitive excellence and the transmission of ancestral equestrian savoir-faire across generations.
