Rabat – HBO Max has unveiled further details surrounding its upcoming Harry Potter series, expanding anticipation for the reimagined journey into the wizarding world.
The project, introduced through the platform’s “Coming Soon” teaser, continues to take shape with a major ensemble cast bringing J.K. Rowling’s universe back to the screen in a new serialized format.
Leading the series is Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, forming the central trio at the heart of the story.
The wider cast brings together a mix of acclaimed and rising talent. Paapa Essiedu will portray Severus Snape, while John Lithgow takes on the role of Albus Dumbledore.
Janet McTeer joins as Minerva McGonagall, with Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
Supporting roles further expand the world of Hogwarts, with Kathryn Parkinson as Molly Weasley and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy. Johnny Flynn portrays Lucius Malfoy, while Leo Earley, Alessia Leoni, and Sienna Moosah appear as Seamus Finnigan, Parvati Patil, and Lavender Brown respectively. Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby take on the roles of Petunia and Vernon Dursley, while Bertie Carvel appears as Cornelius Fudge.
The series also features a wide array of familiar Hogwarts figures and students, including Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley.
Louise Brealey portrays Madam Rolanda Hooch, while Anton Lesser takes on Garrick Ollivander. Warwick Davis also returns to the wizarding world as Professor Filius Flitwick.
Behind the camera, the series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, known for her work on Succession, His Dark Materials, and Killing Eve.
Mark Mylod directs multiple episodes following acclaimed work on Game of Thrones and The Last of Us. Executive production also includes Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts from Brontë Film and TV, alongside David Heyman of Heyday Films.
Adding further prestige to the production, the score will be composed by Hans Zimmer in collaboration with Bleeding Fingers Music, heightening expectations for a cinematic and emotionally rich return to Hogwarts.
