Casablanca – A cross-generational summer collaboration brings together Algerian Rai icon Cheb Khaled and Jana Diab on “Yalla Bina,” released as part of a promotional campaign by SouthMED on Egypt’s North Coast.

Carried by upbeat rhythms and a carefree seasonal atmosphere, the song stands out not only for its sound but also for the artists behind it.

The collaboration brings together one of the Arab world’s most influential music icons and a rising voice preparing for a major career milestone.

For many listeners, the release carries a sense of déjà vu. Nearly three decades ago, Cheb Khaled joined forces with Jana’s father, Amr Diab, on the 1999 hit “Alby.”

Today, Khaled returns to collaborate with the next generation of the Diab family, creating a connection between two eras of Arabic pop music.

“Yalla Bina” arrives as Jana prepares for the release of her debut album, marking another step in her transition from occasional appearances to a professional recording career.

She gained wider visibility in 2025 through “Khatfoony,” her collaboration with Amr Diab.

The release also highlights Cheb Khaled’s enduring influence across the region. Decades into his career, the Algerian star continues to bridge generations and musical styles, proving that Rai remains a powerful presence within contemporary Arabic music.

The release ultimately captures a moment where legacy and new energy meet, turning “Yalla Bina” into more than a summer track, but a bridge between eras.
