Rabat – Marrakech is set to welcome the return of ZONA on June 26, as the homegrown electronic music platform launches the second edition of its flagship showcase, The Moment.

Hosted once again at Playa Leon by Château Hakim, near the iconic Chez Ali complex, the event will bring together internationally acclaimed artists, rising regional talent, and Morocco’s growing community of electronic music enthusiasts.

The venue is expected to be transformed into a fully immersive environment designed to blend music, visual production, and live performance into a single experience.

Leading this year’s lineup is Danish electronic trio WhoMadeWho, who will present a special live concept performance combining electronic instrumentation with immersive storytelling elements.

Joining them is Shimza, one of Africa’s most internationally recognized electronic artists, whose Afro-tech sound has earned him a prominent place on major festival stages worldwide.

The South African presence continues with Desiree, a fast-rising name in the Afro house movement.

Meanwhile, Moroccan artists Kenza Kayati and Staika will represent the local scene, highlighting the event’s commitment to showcasing homegrown talent alongside international acts.

Beyond the music itself, ZONA reflects a wider transformation taking place in Marrakech.

Over the past several years, the city has increasingly attracted international promoters, artists, and music travelers, strengthening its reputation as a regional hub for electronic culture across North Africa and the MENA region.

As competition intensifies among destinations seeking to attract cultural tourism and international events, initiatives such as ZONA are contributing to a shift in perception; one that presents Marrakech not only as a leisure destination but also as a city capable of hosting world-class contemporary cultural experiences.

Organizers say the long-term vision extends beyond individual events.

By investing in large-scale productions, international collaborations, and immersive artistic concepts, the platform aims to create sustainable opportunities for Morocco’s music ecosystem while helping position the country within the global conversation surrounding electronic music.

The strategy appears to be resonating with audiences. The inaugural edition drew more than 4,500 attendees, including a significant share of international visitors, demonstrating the growing appeal of electronic music experiences in Morocco.

Demand for this year’s event has already proven strong, with the initial ticket release selling out ahead of the showcase.

As Marrakech continues to strengthen its cultural profile, ZONA’s second edition could mark another important step in the city’s emergence as a destination where global electronic music culture meets local creative energy.
